Evolutionary theorist Oliver Curry of the London School of Economics expects a genetic upper class and a dim-witted underclass to emerge.
The human race would peak in the year 3000, he said - before a decline due to dependence on technology.

technology should improve and expand basic knowledge and abilities not to replace them. depending on technology only robs one of the understanding of the dynamics involved.

I showed that article to my wife, a biologist. She read it then said, "That guy is a quack." and "Notice this wasn't published in a journal? Why exactly did you have me waste my time with this?"

That about sums it up.

Exactly. I already wasted 27 minutes of my life watching part of that crap-a-thon on a Sunday afternoon, and I've just wasted another 2 minutes reading some whack-job theorist's regurgitation of it.

Judging by some of the posts in these forums the split has already occurred.

The only question now is how wide the gap will become.

Watch this space...................

I think the human species will split in two. But not along the lines suggested by Mr. Curry. They will diverge into a superior, liberal, secular upper class, and a dim-witted, redneck, evangelical underclass. And it won't take 3,000 years. It's under way now.

I'd just settle for being human occasionally...

That's interesting, because when I hear the words "secular liberal ruling class" I think instantly of Prince Charles and David Cameron...I don't think the workers need to worry too much about a few chinless, ineffectual Debating Society graduates developing brain-stems any time soon.

I said "liberal, secular, upper class", not ruling class. You must have devolved to such an extent already that your reading skills have become seriously impaired.
