I tought that the class would be on how to get along in the business setting, to help keep you from making racist comments.

But it is like taking stupid english over again.
But it is made simple, you don't have to use complex words, you can write passive sentences a lot more know.

Do you mean turning something like "I have a minor particle of granular salt lodged in the outer covering of my pedal extremity" into "I have a stone in my shoe"?

Nice, and he's right. I've often seen incomprehensible and utterly impenetrable memos used in business writing. Maybe that's one of the reasons I got out of the business world. Too many people are incapable of expressing themselves in writing because either they're inarticulate or don't really know what they want to say. If they're inarticulate they shouldn't be in the positions they're in (the Peter Principle). If they can't otherwise express themselves, then they're guilty of fuzzy thinking. They're scared of being blunt and rather take the wishy-washy route which obscures their meaning. You don't see this in top business leaders but usually in middle management.

The absolute master of memo writing was Winston Churchill. Yeah, I know he was a bit of a soak but read his memos. Get hold of his three part volume "The Second World War". This was a time of great stress but his ability to get to the point and make his opinions and instructions absolutely clear are masterful. I heartily recommend it to anyone who's involved in business writing. Read it and weep because if you can be half as good, then you'll be very good.

It's "English". And I believe there should be a comma after "Well".
