I am tired of people thinking that since I live in Kentucky I am a hillbilly or a redneck. I AM NOT A HILLBILLY OR A REDNECK.
1. I do not have a southern accent in any way. I never say 'ain't' or 'ya'll' either. Anyone who thinks otherwise I will call and prove that I don't have a southern accent.
2. I do not look like a hillbilly. I wear mostly black, not overalls, coveralls, ect. And I am not gothic!
3. I am smarter than a redneck. I make A's in all subjects and I'm in advanced placement, which means I'm smarter than the average child. I was in a magnet school back in Louisville (which I had to work my friggin tail off to get into). So don't treat me like a moron (and this goes with the dumb blonde sterotype that people pin on me too).
4. Have you ever met a hillbilly or redneck who is a vegetarian? Honestly.
5. I don't have any cousins in Kentucky so don't give that crap about marrying them. The closest only male cousin lives 700 miles away and I haven't seen him in almost 3 years.
6. Kentucky IS NOT in the south and it IS NOT in the north. Its directly in the middle. When the civil war broke out, we were torn. Which leads to other points.
7. There is Northern Kentucky, and Southern Kentucky. There are major cultural differences. Don't mistake them. And I was born in Louisville!!! (northern)
8. Rednecks and hillbillies hunt. I don't. It would completely defeat the purpose of being a vegetarian.
9. In Southern Kentucky pretty much everyone smokes, drinks heavily, does drugs, hunts, drops out of school in 9th grade, are not vegetarians, have southern accents, and look like hillbillies or rednecks (although very few don't).
10. Northern Kentucky is totally different. We have Thunder Over Louisville, University of Louisville, magnet schools, plenty of vegetarians, we don't look like rednecks, barely anyone hunts, very few people smoke/drink heavily/do drugs (compared to the percentage of people that do in Southern Kentucky), and we do not have southern accents.
11. Rednecks and hillbillies are VERY religious. I'm not. I hardly ever go to church anymore. Much less wear dresses all the time (I don't wear them at all), never cut my hair, and go to church during the week too.
12. I have perfect dental health! I am not loosing my teeth. I have never worn braces and according to my dentist never will. And no cavities either! I have perfect teeth.
So do not treat me like a hillbilly or redneck! ðŸ˜

Besides, I play a bit of bluegrass, like to fish, wear boots, chew on a blade of grass, skip stones across the river, had wisdom teeth out, call crayfish "crawdads", like dawgs, and so forth. :'(

And I don't look upon the people in Southern Kentucky any differently than I do with people in Northern Kentucky. And if you want I'll point out all the sterotypes people in Southern Kentucky have called me (and aren't true): Worthless city slicker (and Louisvilles not that big), stupid tree hugger, JCYC kid (JCYC stands for Jefferson County Youth Correctional), Infidel, ect. The sterotypes that are true about Northern Kentucky: we do tend to care about the environment more (which is frowned upon here), some of us have been to JCYC, there are a lot of gangs in downtown Louisville (including violent ones), theres more crime in Louisville (not counting drugs), and our magnet schools have so many kids in them, theres really no individual attention. I've had em all pinned to me.

I'm simply posting this so I don't have to keep writing it over and over in games and pms.
Originally posted by Remora91Why are you so adamant about not being considered a redneck/hillbilly? Is there something wrong with being a redneck/hillbilly? Are you saying that rednecks/hillbillys are bad people, or that rednecks/hillbillys ought to be ashamed of their redneckedness/hiillbillity?
I'm not saying there is! I'm saying I'm not one!
I still haven't gotten my apology, when i get back from drinking I reckon I'll get my wife(cousin) to hunt me up some oppossum to eat while I smoke some home grown dope between chews of tobacco that I can'r read the warnings on cause i dropped out of school.

Originally posted by pparrishMy apologies. It wasn't my intention. (And as of November 23rd I would have been living in South East Kentucky for a year now.) Those are just some of the sterotypes that have been said at me in pms and games about southern kentucky (I didn't say any of them were facts). As I said, there are many sterotypes that go with northern kentucky too (and most of these are true). I was pointing out that I'm not a hillbilly just because I live in a certain area (and I never said that any of those sterotypes about southern kentucky were true; I sinply forgot to put that s what was said in pms and games; my regrets for the mistake).
I'm from southern Kentucky. I resent your comments and demand an apology. Who do you think you are. Do you know most evryone in southern Kentucky, how can you say MOST of us drink, take drugs, etc...
Get a life.

Originally posted by pparrishWhen did I say anything about eating oppossums? I have yet to meet a person brave enough to do that. Last time I heard that happened it was 200 years ago. If you're talking about the hunting I meant deer. And I never said that you guys married your cousins. Thats what people have said towards me. In no way did I connect me being 700 miles away from my cousin to Southern Kentucky.
