For all the hard times we've had, I still respect the fact that I have family I can rely on. My parents stayed married. They took care of their kids whenever we needed it. I appreciate it, and I feel sorrow for those of you who don't have it.
Thanks, Mom and Dad.
EDIT - Despite being an atheist, my Dad said "we're Catholics. We don't divorce."
How American. Take the good and ignore the bad from any system of thought.

Is absolute nonsense. Did/does he suffer from lack of mental clarity?
Saw a guy at Speaker's Corner in London with a sign around his neck that said, "Atheist Christian". I asked him what it meant and he told me that he didn't believe in any gods, but he thought Jesus was a good example to pattern his own life after.
My mother and father passed down a lot of good things to me and my brother and my wife received the same from her mother. We have tried to pass those on to our two sons and we watch as our older son continues the process with our granddaughter. 🙂
