How do I turn off Red Hot Pawn from automatically giving me games when I don't want to play any new games for at least a year, but intend to return at some point.

@warthog7
Go to your account page, click on 'my settings', then click on 'Challenge settings', and on that page you can adjust the number of challenges. Change that number to zero, then go to the bottom of the page and click 'update'.

That should do it for you.

this makes me happy
i thing i saw yesterday and decided it wasn't significant, but is now again right in front of me

it's been nine years since you played/finished a game
and yet, you are concerned about changing profile settings to prevent games?

i recall a proverb about flogging a dead horse

@rookie54
I am 70 years old, and am still good at chess. I quit playing when I was expanding our business, going corporate. We got through COVID and four operations... and now I am building our last (downsized) home and winding down our business. I thought i would finally be playing again this year, but my wife has gotten cancer, so I am all in on taking care of her. I am always "all in" when I play correspondence chess, so I don't want to have to go through 20-30 lower level players to get back up to my level (2000-2200). I just want to play where I am challenged - when I come back to RHP. I still play 2 games at a time at another online chess site, but can't afford the time to play more. Not beating a dead horse. Just keeping it in the barn for now.

i am 71, will turn 72 in march, and i suck at chess
i quit playing daily and resume when i've had a nap
i am so very glad you folks made it thru the damn plague, i'm very happy you are still building and wish nothing but the best for yer wife and family

there is not, nor has there ever been a requirement to play us lesser patzers
to regain a level of optimum chess excellence

glad yer horse is in the barn
nobody will ever see you beating him
