When I was told by PM about Kiva I was told - if I want to invest my money for the good of the world, invest in Kiva. If I want to invest it for self profit, invest in X.

I never even bothered to check into X and I have no idea what it was. The message is gone from my PMs.

I'm not trying to get rich off Kiva, but I like to know what my options are. In any case, I think if Kiva offered interest, the third world would be built up faster because they'd find it easier to get loans from us.

Now tell me, what do YOU do for Ghana?

Not having an egotistic, condescending attitude towards Ghana, I don't feel obliged to do anything at all. Ghana's per-capita output is double that of other West African countries; it's not doing so badly.

South Africa and Ghana are set to increase trade:

Any more self-righteous questions?

I thought you were a follower of Ayn Rand. She'd have sneered at your wasting $50.

No! None at all.

if you don't gain interest on Kiva then you are not investing.

I think Kiva is limiting its own success by not offering interest as they are effectively scaring anyone off who is looking for an alternative to a current or savings account.

False.

You are investing to get in return a better world for your kids and grandkids.

Provided you are fertile, of course.

Also provided that you happen to attract a member of the opposite sex.

Provided that the member of the opposite sex is interested in procreation with you, that is.

And, provided that the procreation partner who agreed to be inseminated by you doesn't change minds and suddenly looks abortion as an appealing option.

Finally, provided your offspring lives long enough despite the genetically modified McNuggets.

Give Kiva a chance. Those people have more chances to procreate.
