I am now 10 games, ten losses. I'm at a loss as to what to do, I really need a teacher or summat, would someone be willing to uptake this mighty task? I learn relatively quickly

OK, this post I CAN respond to by this nick.

Dan, I am willing to try to teach you some of the basics if you want, if I can. I am by no means a master at this game, but I know more than the basics and could maybe help you find your feet. My rating is 1256 because this character is used for "blitz" play (fast, no long thinking) but my origional character is ~1400 (see my profile) so I may be able to help you.
But if you want to play me you'll either have to challenge me or reset your maximum rating filter to above my rating because I can't currently challenge you. We can play unrated if you want.

Check out the "Chess Only" forum as well...there is always some useful discussion there. Just observing what others have to say teaches a lot of chess. Also, if you do learn quickly, then RHP will improve your chess enormously.
