Hi, i have a game against a really really high rated player, not going to name who, its in the middle game, a very even game, in fact ive actually played far to well so far, anyhow, the point is their timebank has run really low, and at the moment its at .64 and going down as we speak, My policy is to always timeout, as i expect others to do to me, sometimes i cant move against certain opponents, especially in games that are 1/0 or 3/0, but this game was 3/7 which makes me want to time it out, I dont know, i always take timeouts, but i have a sick feeling in my stomach about taking this one, makes me feel bad! :'(:'(:'(:'(:'(
What does everyone out there think?
Should I, or Should I not?
Originally posted by DustnrogersIf it's a matter of conscience, send him a reminder when his bank runs out and wait 24 hours. If he doesn't move after that, then take the time out. With a high rating comes a responsibility to move regularly or risk losing that rating. It does not entitle you to be above the time out rules.

If you haven't made it clear, then I wouldn't time him out. Give him a couple of warnings first. But I certainly wouldn't alter your attitude just because he/she's a high ranking player.
Thats true, and the opponent is a friend, I will let it run out, send a reminder, but what if the mind becomes greedy, I hate waiting to take a timeout when the opportunity is right there! OMG, tough decision, my stomach really does hurt thinking about it, Starrman, if you had an opponent that was 500 points higher then you, would you take the timeout if you had the opportunity, or could you still wait?
I agree Mr Eagle..thats very true, But still, i have over 2000 timeouts against myself, and people are always quick to draw the gun, thats why im wondering if i should do the same, i would rather wait though i dont mind, since i gotta go to bed anyhow and get a good nights sleep, maybe ill just not come online for a day lol, then send a reminder and then go away for a day, and then consider it! lol!

Originally posted by DustnrogersThe irony of this situation is I probably wouldn't take my own advice 🙂 I'd have a hard time timing someone out if I knew the win was undeserved. However, as he is a friend, I wouldn't even be having this dilema, I would never time out someone I know as a friend.
