I've decided to phone the repair people tomorrow. I have a huge fear about handing it over as they just had it for a week in their works unit after fixing it last wednesday.
This PC has the whole of my companies accounts on, and as yet not uploaded website. I would prefer to have a dumb computer, rather than deal with those dumb idiots.
One thing to try, if your laptop has a cd player, plug in earphones into the phone jack and see if sound comes out there. If not, maybe the repair dudes screwed up the audio drivers, like if they had to re-install windows and forgot to install audio drivers you would not hear a thing. So try that first.
