I finally get it. Jolly good... and Cheers. Great posts. I just hope you realize the US did this 30 years ago....

"Warren Mitchell once again displays the comedy genius of Alf Garnett. Alf is an East Ender with opinions on every subject and he is not afraid to tell people about them. Alf is accompanied by his 'silly moo' wife played by Dandy Nichols, she has a magnificent repertoire of come back lines that only set about inspiring a typical soapbox speech from Garnett."
Archie Bunker is from "All in the Family". A very funny show about a guy who was stuck in the 40's while the world moved through the 70's. He was not afraid to pick on any social group.

I'm not sure what that site has to offer besides some info and cookies.... but you've got to see it to enjoy it. (as is true with things like visual humor and location jokes.)
Warren Mitchell as Alf Garnett? Was this a tv show? I'll go see if I can find anything.

Edit! I checked out some Alf Garnett... I found it funny how he figures his futbol team won in 1966... that must crack you guys up. I found another one I just don't get!

Originally posted by PhlabibitAh, you're obviously not familiar with the work of Joel Veitch. He's done several animations where he takes a song and deliberately mishears some of the words - in this case he hears "Alf Garnett" instead of "I've got it".

Edit: On that 'All In the Family' site it describes 'Till Death Us Do Part' (the series featuring Alf Garnett) as the predecessor to the US show. So there you go!
