K, if this is easy as I think it is this should take no more than 25 seconds. I got an answer, and I suck at math...We'll see if it's right.
Ah, I didn't read the whole question. I haven't looked at the links, and so I don't know if that effects things.

I got 4.63. Once again, don't know if the links effect things.

(That's 4.63 seconds, BTW) And I rounded early because the calc. I was using doesn't have the 2nd answer function, so it may be off by some hundreths/thousanths.

BTW:I'm an American and can't stand not using the metric system.

Shouldn't it be...

36.5m/4.23secs =40

8.63X (rounded) = 40

40/8.63 = 4.63

Right? EDIT: Set it up wrong originally....no matter. Damn smileys.

no if at that point he is going at .86 per 10 metres then its .086 per metre that times the 3.5 other metres is .301 more than the last time

...I didn't change from metres to yards or anything, like I explained I didn't check the link. Anyhow, I'm thinking that the change in units doesn't matter. They asked for time, not m/s or yards/s. IDK, it's late, and I don't care.

i tried that but he slows down speeds up as the race goes on[the slowest at the start and fastest near the end as shown in the link]

Christ dude, I didn't look at the damn link. It's not my fault that you're an idiot. It looks like a simple math problem. Are you in 6th grade or something?
