@drewnogal saidThere are some crucial things your friend can't change/improve of course (like location) but I guess they could make some outlandish claims about the property to help it sell. (Elvis lived here between June and August 1963, or it is said gold coins are hidden somewhere in the property). A fearless owner might spend good money to transform the layout, confident in the belief they will recoup the funds when the property sells. They might similarly invest in an interior designer to maximise the appeal of the property.
I’ve a friend who’s had his house up for sale for a year. He recently got a buyer but backed out.
Selling is no fun. - We completed on our sale 2 days ago. Only took us 6 months. 🙁

@drewnogal saidis this about fear of a real estate event, or is it about fear in general?

buying or selling houses, or land, can be stressful
even buying or selling cars, trucks, boats, and motorcycles
this is a normal reaction
when it comes to fear in general, i would be fearful of having no fear
it's the primal survival reaction
considering my past, if i had had no fear, i would not be amongst the living, i fear
@rookie54 saidI don't see how having fear helps you any at all.

@rookie54 saidI agree about it’s needed for these reasons. At the same time I feel you have to be able to know when your mind needs to click and turn it off and focus on that survival only if necessary. Being able to take in the situation and what needs done without the interference and issues fear introduces.

@mike69 saidI think you are both being silly. Being aware of a situation and watching your surroundings is good advice, but being fearful is not going to help you one little bit.

@very-rusty saidHaving a healthy fear of heights stops you climbing precariously high on a ladder. A fear of crocodiles stops you swimming in a murky lake.

@ghost-of-a-duke saidYou don't have to FEAR the ladder or swimming in a murky lake, you just have to be cautious. Why would you swim in lake that could have crocodiles in it to begin with?

@mike69 saidNot an issue as a young man I use to wrestle with the cubs, until mama come along then got my butt out of there. 🙂

I have respect for them, don't confuse that part.

@ghost-of-a-duke saidSorry, meant that the friend backed out of the sale which was had an offer of 2.06% below his asking price. He should have been overjoyed as he’d had plans to spend part of the cash on an RV and travel while also being on a list for a retirement pensioners bungalow so he’d have had a new rented home in addition.
