It's from a book (and a nice quote, too).

I had to look it up though.

Yes, in the meantime I looked it up as well. I was wrong.

Won't stop me from posting one. It's a song, I'm posting all the lyrics because it would do the song injustice to post only part of it. It's one of the most haunting and beautiful songs ever.

Snow can wait I forgot my mittens
Wipe my nose get my new boots on
I get a little warm in my heart when I think of winter
I put my hands in my father's glove

I run off where the drifts get deeper
Sleeping Beauty trips me with a frown

I hear a voice you must learn to stand up
For yourself cause I can't always be around

He says when you gonna make up your mind
When you gonna love you as much as I do
When you gonna make up your mind
'Cause things are gonna change so fast
All the white horses are still in bed
I tell you that I'll always want you near
You say that things change my dear

Boys get discovered as winter melts
Flowers come pleading for the sun
Years go by and I'm used to waiting
With a ring with some snowman's

Mirror mirror where's the crystal palace
But I can only see myself
Skating around the truth who I am
But I know the Ice is getting thin

When you gonna make up your mind
When you gonna love you as much as I do
When you gonna make up your mind
'Cause things are gonna change so fast
All the white horses are still in bed
I tell you that I'll always want you near
You say that things change my dear

Hair is gray and the fire is burring
So many dreams on the shelf
You say I wanted you to be proud
I always wanted that myself

When you gonna make up your mind
When you gonna love you as much as I do
When you gonna make up your mind
'Cause things are gonna change so fast
All the white horses have gone ahead
I tell you that I'll always want you near
You say that things change my dear

Never change
All the white horses

Don't care for the Rolling Stones, myself. I think they were/are just a bunch of evil, cretinous, scabby, drug-ridden, filthy, criminal perverts who peddled a hokey, unsophisticated variety of blues.

But that's just my opinion 🙂.

I just looked it up, and it seems I was right, so here's another quote:

"I'm an air force officer just like you are, colonel. And just because my reproductive organs are on the inside instead of the outside, it doesn't mean I can't handle whatever you can handle." [TV-series]

It would be pretty funny to hear the Stones sing this song (only once, though), so no, it’s pretty far removed from them.

I suggest you google the lyrics and then listen to the song. Also, look up the meaning of the lyrics.

OK, I listened. Sorry, but I found it incredibly overwrought and not a little mawkish. She's definitely not my cup of tea, but she deserves some kudos for playing her own instrument(s).

I am not very surprised that you didn’t like it. I am more surprised whenever you do like something...

(Something a bit easier) - Song

"She said, 'I'm home on shore leave,
though in truth we were at sea
so I took her by the looking glass
and forced her to agree
saying, 'You must be the mermaid
who took Neptune for a ride.
But she smiled at me so sadly
that my anger straightway died"
