you wasn't stood next to a speaker at a gig were you? 😉

i don't think there is anything you can do except wait...some people have it constantly throughout their lives. it must be doing your head in!

Seriously, you better be careful. That ringing can last a lifetime. Especially if you keep making it worse by listening to loud... oh I don't know... let's say HEAVY METAL! 🙂

If it doesn't go away, go see a doctor. But I hope it goes away today.

i had a mis-spent youth standing next to speaker stacks in clubs and gigs, and i now have permanent tinnitus in both ears. while it doesn't affect me most of the time, i can never again enjoy a perfect silence - there is a constant ringing in my ears that becomes obvious when ambient noise dips below a certain level.

now i'm not one to tell folk how to live their lives, but if i could have my time again i'd have invested in a good pair of earplugs before i went to all those gigs...

I've heard drinking, and chocolate can also add to the ringing.... anyone heard similar or other causes?

I get that every time I hear Metallica as well.

What generally helps is sticking your hand in an open flame. Hurts like hell, but you stop hearing the ringing.

Try jabbing a pencil in your ear until it gently massages your eardrum.
