I learned the Philosophy is one of the 5 lowest paying jobs for me in California. The highest was a job as a Family Doctor.

Philosophy is a job? How does anyone get hired as a "Philosopher"? If you write or teach about Philosophy then you are paid as an author or a writer, are you not?

Bearing in mind it'sCalifornia, have you considered retraining as a psychotherapist for dangerous pets?

Bearing in mind it's California, have you considered begging for money on Fisherman's Wharf? That seems to be a popular career choice.

I hope you will pass on this wisdom to bbarr. Plus, I know that those California TV preachers like the Crouch's are making a killing. Why be a doctor and have to deal with insurance companies and malpractice when you can heal from their gilded golden thrones.

Ah, but bbarr's in Washington, where the philosopher's are much better-compensated for their philosophising 😛.

Nobody would take a philosopher seriously who doesn't look like a disheveled homeless man.

Because he blows all the sweet bank he makes philosophising on loose trousers and loose women. To quote another philosopher: "Pirping ain't easy, never said it was."
