Now then chess mates. How many of you have had opponents who when about to be mated in one or two moves stop playingthe game as long as timeouts and timebanks permit? Cretins

It's more infuriating if you're a - sub. There's motivation to sbscrb.

My favorite is when you have a 5 or 6 move checkmate combination and they play it to one move before checkmate and resign. I've always loved that. As a subscriber I don't care if they milk the clock though. What I do hate is when they drop 400-500 ratings points before the game times out. Somehow that seems unfair.

I agree Nyxie. Now that is really maddening. I had onr game when I was beating a player with a much higher rating than me and he then went and resigned his games. I finished up beating applayer who by then was on a lot lower rating than me.

Well, that happened to me too. But I wasn't expecting to beat the guy at all, so when he resigned (he resigned a whole bunch of games at once) and his rating slipped, it would have been churlish to complain. He has to work much harder to regain his rating than I do to make the points I would have gained.

In my game I was winning easily against a player a good 300 points higher than me. By the time he resigned his games he was 400 below me!
