I have a dream. At this time of great political tensions around the globe, I have a dream that people from all over the world, of all races and faiths and cultures can put aside their various parochial attitudes and reach out to others in a genuine spirit of intercultural sensitivity and friendly exchange as equals, and it is in that spirit that I would like to wish people everywhere, of all ethnic and religious backgrounds, but particularly our Muslim friends and brothers, with whom our relations have been particularly strained in recent years, a very merry Christmas in celebration of the peace and love of our lord and saviour Jesus Christ, who died for our sins, and a happy 2008 A.D.! Merry Christmas all!

Well said! I agree with everything you say, but I fear it's really just a pipe dream. I sometimes think that the best thing we human beings are good at is killing each other as well as other creatures. Who else goes to war but us? How many people have died in the name of religion, whatever the religion? Everyone thinks God is on their side, but how can He be on both sides?. He loves us so much that He has given us the freedom to do as we will, and He will not interfere.
However, we must try to do good and we must get better at it.
Nevertheless,
I wish everyone peace on earth and goodwill towards all men.
Merry Christmas

If there was this 'Loving' god, why would it go to so much trouble to make diametrically opposed religions? Religions that have killed more people than all the wars ever over territory. If that is your idea of a loving god, let it rot in the hell of its own making. Other than that, have a merry christmas.

Did you know that Muslims don't celebrate Christmas, and they don't believe that Jesus is the Christ?

Merry Christmas to you, Iron Monkey, and to everyone else on RHP (or associated sites) 🙂

God did not make diametrically opposed religions; we did. And God does not make war; we do. God loves us so much that he has given us the freedom to make our own choices and do our own thing, even if he does not approve.

I wonder where the heck they think Jerusalem is? It's right between Galilee and Matunuck. I used to live there.
