Of the 20 highest-rated RHP players, only 4 have made more than 10,000 moves.

Of the 20 most active players, only 2 have ratings higher than 1500.

Surprised?

Another interesting statistic is that those of us who have been here for a while remember when it was a big deal when the entire top 20 was rated 1700 or better. Now the top 10 are all above 1900 and the lowest rated player of the top 20 is 1832. Kirk

Hehe, dcpk and I seem to take it in turns at being highest rated in the top 20 most active players.

To be fair though, David Tebb, Bbarr and chewie are all only a little shy of 10,000. Once Luck gets fully into his stride his rating will shoot pass 1500.

Edit: But yep, point taken. I know personally since I've made a conscious effort to spend several minutes (or more) rather than seconds on my moves and to also cut down on the number of games I'm playing to under 20 I've gone from 1450/1550 range to just about keeping my head above water at 1700. The thing I never expected back when I used to blitz was that I'm enjoying it just as much now, if not more, than I was then (not to mention having an altogether more balanced life!).

Then there are those of us who are on neither table. I'm 200 on the rating table, and 151 on the most active player table. I used to be on the most active poster table...until it was abolished.

Thanks Mark for your confidence.
I am playing just blitz right now, I will let the number games go down by 50. When I reach below 30, I will start to play more seriously. I wish then my rating will increase, hopefully to at least 1600 level, where I have stayed a long time. I did reach as high as 1721, about a year ago when I only played seriously.
Right now, max 10 seconds per move!

This tool of analyze Board can help us a lot, at the begining I used to play in a chess set and analyze my games as deep as i could, I dont anymore because of the amount of games, but now whenever I have a complex position I try the analyze board. All of us should use it is cool!!!

For the high rating people I think the explanation for that is the new scoring system.

For the MAP people, many pawnstars have found playing lots of games lowers your rating.
