@Ghost-of-a-Duke
Artistic people are often left-handed, actors and such - you will notice that in the films. So I have learnt
.
@ghost-of-a-duke saidYAHOOOOO...but it's still not "right".
Finally.
We deserve to be celebrated!!!
Hey, was that a "left handed compliment"?
@the-gravedigger saidAttempts were made when I was young to have me switch to my right hand, but I was a stubborn child. (No hand-tying though).
My Grandfather was left handed and had his left hand tied behind his back at school to force him to use his right hand.
Barbaric.
@ghost-of-a-duke saidI went to a Catholic school and the nuns use to wack my left hand with a ruler using the edge of the ruler to try and make me use my right hand, never did work! They finally gave up. 😉 Yea I guess I was a little on the stubborn side even back then!

In todays world it would be considered child abuse.

@very-rusty saidThere was much injustice in schools then, let's hope there is less now.

@the-gravedigger saidAlso Child abuse, but was looked at as discipline back in those times.

@ghost-of-a-duke saidIt was a terrible thing to do. My grandson is both left- and righthanded. He uses his right hand for writing, but holds the knife in his left when eating. He says cutting is easier with his left hand.
'Sinister' as you may know, is the Latin word for left-handed.
I think it was this connection between being left-handed and being perceived as evil/sinister that fuelled a lot of the pressure to switch hands.
@ghost-of-a-duke saidAgreed, the left handed path is associated with the dark side.

-Removed-Interesting Dive...When I played hockey as a forward I was a right handed shooter, also when I played goal as I got older my catching glove was on the right hand, in baseball I could switch hit also caught the ball with my right hand as a catcher for the pitcher. So could use the right hand to a certain degree. Oh yes and always used the middle right hand finger for the finger salute! 😉
