Recently all my browsers have started playing up when loading internet pages.

For example Opera sped-dials will respond to Google but not to other saved speed dials. I just get "the server is not available" message. Other pages seem to freeze while they are loading or load with half the information missing. Sometimes they work ok though - it's weird.

Any advice on how to sort this would be very much appreciated.
Thanks

Try clearing cache in all of your browsers then try again. If this fails, I'm afraid I can't help you. I'm a one trick pony.

Did you try threatening it with a knife?

Been looking on the net (between drop-outs) and apparently this is a common problem with my router which is a DG834G.

This is a white Netgear thing with a single antenna and flashy green lights on the front which look at me funny sometimes. I hate the bloody thing, I hate it's power over me.

It probably feels your hatred. Nobody likes to cooperate when feeling hated. You need to work on your relationship.

I had a similar problem, I think. I'm using a DG834 (not wireless), and it would just drop loading pages all the time. If I continually hit "try again" it would eventually load. I also searched all over and found the solution.

What fixed the problem completely was switching over to openDNS. http://www.opendns.com/start/

All you need to do is follow the very simple instructions and put two addresses in your Basic Settings on your router config page.
