... not all of them, not always, but very often I am used to carry with me at least two things - God thanks for rucksack -
a head of garlic
and a
jar of peanut butter.
I like to add peanut butter on spaghetti bolognese and pizza 4 kinds of cheese and top all of that with garlic, a lot of garlic.
And I don't mind other guests that might look askance.

And if there were, people who put peanut butter on it would deserve hanging, drawing and quartering. And then mincing, tomato-ing, simmering for several hours, and serving with tagliatelle.

Originally posted by vanderveldeI don't know what that bowl is supposed to contain, but I can tell you one thing: it most definitely isn't "spaghetti bolognese". There is no such thing, even if you are foolish enough to put ragù di carne alla Bolognese on spaghetti instead of on tagliatelle, as you ought to.
But I actually do it. I even have a pictures of that on ImageShack.

But that bowl wasn't even that, that's obvious even from that photo. Not nearly enough meat and the colour is too watery. It might have been spaghetti alla Napoletana - a bad one - and yes, ragù alla Napoletana does go over spaghetti, and typically does not go over tagliatelle like Bolognese ragù- but it probably was spaghetti with "unspecified tomato sauce". This is typically mistaken for "spag ball" in Anglophone countries, and I'm afraid in the Netherlands as well, but it is, I assure you, miles, nay old Imperial leagues away from the real thing.
And even with random insipid tomato sauce over your spaghetti, putting peanut butter on it is just silly.
Everybody knows you should use Worcester sauce.

(Oh, and I'm also doubtful that that really is peanut butter in that jar. It looks suspiciously like it might contain sugar, quid non.)
