I've heard that IQ, due to its origins, only indicates how much a person is
in line with Western thought and practices. Nothing else.

How is the ability to grasp and perform mathmatical computations "in line with Western thought and practices?" Isn't multiplication the same everywhere, or does 6 x 3 mean something else in Eastern thought and practice?

I presume that the comment means: it is a Western conception that intelligence
is equivalent with performing mathematical computations.
