Sorry mate. Have to disagree. I checked a game V one of my clan members. IM selected the no.1 rec for every move even though it meant changing from the default on one occasion.

The engine rec'ed promotion of a pawn jointly as queen and rook but rook was listed first. As the piece was going to be taken anyway this was a complete waste of time and left me chuckling.

That level of hit rate is pretty conclusive.

I'd have been the same, it's just that Ironman lives near to me and we have mutual friends. They are equally adamant that he is just that good, photographic memory and gifted at chess.

I may be wrong, and I'm sorry to flog a very dead horse, but I have heard from sources I trust that this decision was the wrong one.

But I repeat, I'd have done the same.
