Why should anyone be blamed? both teams cannot win! why does the losing team have to be blamed? surely this is not in the true spirit of sport.
What is the true spirit of the sport? The English one? The Italian one? The German one?
Originally posted by PalynkaWhat are you talking out? what does it have to do with nationalities? The true spirit of sport is to compete and to enjoy the experience and perhaps learn from it, no matter how good a team is they can't compete unless another team in there to play them, so you should always respect your opponent(s). When you loss a chess match do you blame someone? or perhaps treat it as an opportunity to learn something so you can perform better next time, this is what I am talking about, although from your reaction I wouldn't be suprised if you just didn't get it.

Of course you are, you are talking about something you don't understand as a social phenomenon and can't find arguments to support your claims.

So the Argies have it in for you too? Is there any nation you'd actually like to referee your games, or do you suspect that everyone despises you?
Who said anything about the Argies "having it in for" anyone - not me.
It's also a FACT that all the referees have been absolutely lamentable.
If you're too biased to see that, you must be the only person in the world who can't. Except maybe Palynka.
This World Cup, whoever wins, will go down in history as the worst refereed ever.
Originally posted by Dr Strangelove2002 was far far far worse, in my opinion. The way Korea was supported all along was scandalous. The ref in England Portugal is one of the best and he was right there a few feet away from the incident.

I'm being accused of bias by biased people. I'm definitely biased, but that's why I quoted the international press about it and they agree with me that it was a red. It's time to leave it a rest about the refs, it's all I've been saying from even before the match.
Originally posted by PalynkaI'm not interested in trying to blame anyone. I just hate to see cheating by any team or player, and it's been rife in this tournament so far.

I suppose you'll deny that too. hah!

What Figo did in that game is condemnable, but so is what Rooney did. I don't think England should stop playing Rooney just because he did it and the same applies to Figo. Especially since it's the first time I see Figo doing something like that. For example, Joao Pinto was removed from the national team after he punched a ref in the 2002 World Cup. That I can agree with, since it was a truly disgraceful act.
