No chance of that Gil. You don't come on this site and flip out because
someone gave you an answer you didn't want to hear. Or maybe she
did want to hear it so she could attack Dave. That's what happened.
Frankly I don't think this was actually about using
books.........obviously the last 10 posts or so have nothing to do with
it. Nor did she try to get on topic or even mention it. She was rude to
tenebr8, a great guy(WHOOOOO!), just because he didn't want to play
her. Hell, who would after this little fiasco she caused?!?! She posted
this topic to get Dave to answer. Obviously he did because it's
something that concerns him and he was trying to help out. She then
got her chance to attack him, and proceeded to do so in many posts.
This person has been here before, as she knew my age before
anyone told her..........and her little excuse of me using the word pal
was just plain weak.........she's gonna need more than that to cover
up her little stunt. There will be no make-ups here Gil, hope this
doesn't break up friendly relations between me and you Gil because I
have nothing against you, just this "new" person.

Miss Take, You are making a big mistake arguing with Dave. I see
you joined this site 3 July 2002. Who do you think you are? Dave is a
friend of mine and a friend of most everyone here. Yes he is Captain
of the USA Team here. You probably don't even know we have a
friendly tournnament in progress and Dave is Captain of our team.
I'll give you a bit of free advise. Pick on someone of your stature.
Dave is no match for you. He's so far above your class you can see
that high.
Come on and pick on me about my use of titles. But, Leave Dave
and the respected players here alone.

I too don't use books but acknowledge that many do. The rules state
that you can use a book. There is no way to prevent someone from
using anything they want - even programs.
Most games will eventually deviate from the lines in most books. So
this becomes a test of who can play the middle and end game the
best. If someone relies on a book to make the opening moves, they
are likely to lack the skill to last past the opening. So pick a few
openings that you are comfortable with and stick to them. Also be
aware that many will use books and some will use programs.
I doubt that David uses books much, the fact that he can rise to the
top is testiment to his skill.
So don't worry about your rating or won/lose ratio - enjoy the games.
Find people you feel comfortable playing with and play them. I am
always available.
