Now, I just came back to my room from watching desperate housewives, and this question is bugging me.
The one woman (Lunette) is really stressed out, so this other woman from her kids' school tells her she takes her kids' anti-hyperactivity pills. Lunette then asks why, she thought they'd have a calming effect.
And then.... then the other woman says something along the lines of "If you're not hyperactive, it's works the other way round"
Now obviously, this being a soap, Lunette tries it and gets all her work done etc. because she doesn't feel tired anymore.
Now, to all you smart people out there: Could this really be true? does it work that way?
Thanks,
Angie 😀

Someone who is hyper active will see a lot more than the average person. The brain can't cope with it and the person becomes stressed out (to keep a very long story short).
Taking speed (read: ritalin) speeds the brain up. So the brain can cope with all the impressions coming into it. The person gets some rest.
That's how it works. Basically.
don't know if it's true, sounds unlikely to be that straightforward ... but basically getting medication advice just from tv soaps sounds like a recipe for disaster ... try a more reliable and unbiassed source of scientific information ... like the rhp spirituality forum ... as for hyperactivity disorder ... well it never existed when kids were sent outside to run around for a few hours every day ... and now they spend every day indoors siting down watching tv and playing video games they've all got it ... you work out the cause
