you have seen the curve of the earth from a plane? ive been in probably over a hundred planes and have never noticed it. even at FL350
People have sailed around the world.
My dad was in the Air National Gruad He flow F-16 and had a video Camra showing it you could tell there was a curve.

And how does an angel "hold" wind?

If it does happen to leak out, you look at the guy next to you with a look of disgust on your face and move quickly away.

Flat. In particular, a four-sided polygon.
Biblical proof is always the best.
Revelation 7:1
And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.
Funny that. Perhaps you can quote a reference to a sphere in the bible. Have a good look see.
Difference in time zones. Should the Earth be flat, there would be a significantly smally discrepancy in time zones.

It's called a metaphor. You might have found it strange that angels could 'held' 4 winds, that was the giveaway 😉, If you give me your postal code I'll find out if there are any sunday schools in your area. They can also explain figures of speach to you if you ask them nicely.
As for the person not seing the curves of the Earth, if you look at the horizon of the sea at sunset and take a ruler or some long straight piece of equipment and span it from one point of the horizon to another, you will see the sea sticking out at the middle.
cheers

it is a triangle.
it is one hell of a big triangle.
verry verry big whooping triangle.
QED
wheres my prize?
I've seen hillier holes than Holland.
"Have you ever seen how two parallel lines seem to meet in the distance. By definition of parralel, they could never meet. You may want to rethink this post. "
Ah, but you assume a Euclidean geometry. In many geometries parallel lines can, and do, meet. Sometimes they then go out for drinks. You know the old saw- parallels attract....
Actually, I'm pretty sure that even an oblate spheroid would look flat to visitors from the 4th dimension (and they're here- please don't believe otherwise... reflective Reynolds TM headgear only 10 bucks). But I need no proofs like that- I have a level, and an NYC sidewalk, and I can definitively state that the world is crooked.
This thread was originallly intended to see how ingenius people were on RHP and i am pleased to announce that the winner is whoever it was who thought about simple principles. Around the World in Eighty Days. This thread was meant to be absract, not scientific.
So the winner recieves whatever he wants.
I'll write it to him/her when they ask for it.

The observation that you describe comes from the fact that the midle of your ruler is closer to your eye than the ends of the ruler, this in turns mean that the angle between "true horizontal" and your sightline over the ruler is not the same at the ends as at the midle.
Aint geometry just soooo fun 😀
