What is the point it is trying to make though?

EDIT: Is it trying to say that the US government fired a missile at it's own HQ to achieve some kind of political gain? I cannot see this being true. If this was true and part of the 9/11 attacks, why didn't they just go the full hog and crash a plane into the pentagon.

Or are they trying to say that the terrorists had access to long range ballistics?

It is saying there was a bomb inside the pentagon. Obviously they wouldn't want to shout out information like that at the top of their voices.
