I think we we are all missing the point of this thread. Poor ol' Shavi asked for sympathy and so far has gotten none.

Sorry dude. Best I can muster at this time of night. Would a piece of battenburg cake suffice?

Oh man. Spiders over a foot long!

Camelspiders.net says they aren't spiders, and only grow to have a leg span of 5 inches. That doesn't make sense in light of the picture unless the picture is a fake.

Ahh...here we go. This website explains the picture. The camera angle makes them look bigger than they are. Notice the human hand in the top right.

Now, as for you Shav, you're lucky it didn't nab one of your nuts to munch on. You need to stop letting those things hang out like you do.

Oh no! Not the dreaded Iraqi fake photo saga all over again. 😛

You know they run in packs, and smell fear just like dogs. The longer you wait to confront this creature, the more friends he will enlist. When you enter your kitchen next, there will three or four of them at least, with one assuredly perched just above the kitchen doorway.

My advice: burn the kitchen to the ground.
Heheheh, you're funny. I rec'd your post for the humor! 🙂

Oddly enough I never had spider phobia until reading this dreadfully frightening thread. Thanks to all for the wonderfull night terrors I'm about to have. 😴😲

In my own bloody kitchen.

I was bending down to put a freshly washed and dried frying pan back into the lower cupboard and as I stood back up straight I spotted the spider on the overhead cupboard.

Now, I am a man with nerves of steel and the suave and exremely cool composure of James Bond...So I stood perfectly still and eyed the ...[text shortened]... hen.
My diet coke and chocolate's in there and my house mate isn't home to save me....

🙁
