what a shame he had to go so relatively young. so glad i caught his recent bbc electric proms gig at the london roundhouse, (perhaps his last gig?). he was great and even did some funky dancing which was greatly appreciated by everyone. i know the bbc filmed it for posterity, may be able to see some of it on the bbc website, electric proms etc etc.

He was an innovator as well as a great entertainer. He is credited for being one of the fist solo artists that got down on the first and third beat.

His influence is amazing.
