The quote "The pen is mightier than the sword" is not to be taken as advice for a duel. In fact people still know Archimedes, but who knows the guy who killed him? If you do have an idea with an impact on humankind and your name is related to that idea your legacy will live on. If you are a killer chances are that you are forgotten a lifetime after your kills. (I know there are some assassins wohse names lived on, but not many)
