Originally posted by asromacalcioIt's been a while since I did judo, so I had to look it up, but in uki-goshi you rather pull your opponent over your hip, while in an o-goshi, you more or less lift your opponent with your hips before you swing him over your them. The main difference is the way you step in. In an o-goshi you keep your two legs closer to each other, while in an uki goshi you extend one leg a bit more to aid your opponent in falling down. Also in an o-goshi, you have to go through your knees a bit to lift make it easier to lift. In the other throw, you keep your legs straight.
If anybody here does judo, can you tell me what the **** is the difference between O Goshi and Uki Goshi?
I've studied it and can't see the slightest thing.
At least, that's what I think I remember and can make out on the pictures of the little photocopied training books they handed out in my club.

It doesn't matter what the difference is...
Any decent Ju-Jitzu fighter will make milk toast out of ya!
