The Subways
Head Automatica
Angels and Airwaves
Taking Back Sunday

Best concert I've ever been to. Amazing. Spent about an hour in the mosh pit, took and elbow to the ribs, arm to the throat, and had about 200 different people's sweat on me.

But it was worth it.

Why are mosh pits considered recreation for a generation of young people? I made the mistake of going to a Metallica concert - love Metallica - and I wanted to be fairly close, but not too close to get involved in that kind of disaster. I was lucky enough to avoid serious injury. However, I saw people lose teeth, break ribs, get knocked unconscious, ...[text shortened]... ry, yet no - utterly none - corresponding reward. Yet young people continue to do this. Why?
You could always try it and find out? 🙂

went to download festival last year. ended up face down, spread eagle in a circle pit at megadeth. slipknot was equally scary. was it fun? yup. do i know why it was fun? nope. will i ever repeat said acts of moshing insanity? probably not...

i've never actually been injured in a proper mosh pit. the nearest i've had was in a mini-mosh pit at "rocksoc" (my uni's rock society). i got an elbow to the nose. i now leave the floor when a pit starts. they're more dangerous than the big 'uns...

The thing about small local pits is they're used by people who might want to stick one on you as a good excuse to stick one on you.

Bigger (gig) pits tend to be full of strangers who're less intent on sticking one on someone, more into the music.

That's my thoughts on the subject anyway.

The pit was funny. Most of the time I wouldn't deliberately get into it, it would just open up around me before I knew what was happening, and I'd be getting pushed around and running into people.

Oh, and these 12-13 year old kids thought they were really tough and jumped in one. We kept pushing them on the ground and trampling them. Fun stuff.

The Subways and Head Automatica were the best of that show, in my opinion. Taking Back Sunday took an hour or so to get set up, but they also played for at least an hour and a half straight. Angels and Airwaves was decent, but Tom DeLonge kept going into these little rants about how the war is wrong, and peace, and all his other BS.

While at uni, my 6ft 5in, 16 stone housemate used stagedive at concerts.
What an idiot he was, I saw many people collapse under his bulk.

So these bullying tendencies are why you want to join the u.s. military. You'll feel right at home.

You know, your potshots at the US keep getting more and more childish and stupid.

Just because you're too big of a bitch to fight for your country doesn't mean we all have to be.

I apologise for not finding the bullying of 12 year olds by 18+ year olds funny.

Speaking of childishness, aren't you the guy who said he wants to join the u.s. military because of something you saw on tv?
