I am a grade 9 student, and I haven't covered this in math yet (I don't know if I even will in this grade), what is the purpose of Sinh Cosh and Tanh? What are the formulaes that they are invovled in? What about Vars or Log?

You may yet get to these by the time this school year ends, but if not, then definitely next year if you take Geometry, and also the next year after that if you take second year Algebra, or more properly called Trigonometry. If you're impatient to learn about them now, just Google it. πŸ™‚

Kirk actually never really met Tanh, that green lady. It was Captain Pike and you can see her in the Menagerie and The Cage.

In short triangles angles and lenghts. They also are used on some graphs.
