Woman in sex-for-tix case 'embarrassed'
AAP - October 29, 2009, 10:40 am

A Philadelphia woman charged with offering sex for World Series tickets says she's embarrassed about her arrest, but did nothing wrong and is still hopeful of attending a game.

"I didn't do anything wrong, so I'm not embarrassed about my actions. I'm embarrassed about how I was arrested," Susan Finkelstein said in a phone interview on Wednesday, a day after meeting at a suburban bar with an undercover police officer responding to an ad on Craigslist.

Finkelstein's lawyer said his client was merely "a nice lady overcome with Phillies fever."

She might have dropped double entendres in her Craigslist ad but never explicitly offered sex, her lawyer William J. Brennan said.

The 43-year-old Finkelstein wanted to take her husband to a game between her beloved Philadelphia Phillies and the New York Yankees.

The self-described "buxom blonde" said she was simply trying to score tickets online, as she had in the past.

Over a few beers at a suburban bar, she told a police officer she needed two tickets, one for herself and one for her husband.

No price had been discussed, and Finkelstein and her lawyer stopped short of recounting specifics of what was said before several officers sitting at a nearby table came to arrest her.

Brennan hopes to get the misdemeanor charge of promoting prostitution dismissed.

Finkelstein told WPVI-TV she was looking to get a deal on tickets.

"I was hoping to maybe meet someone, and talk, and bat my eyelashes and maybe get some tickets," she said.

Finkelstein faces a preliminary hearing on December 3. On the bright side, she's been offered a pair of tickets to a weekend game in Philadelphia, courtesy of a radio station and car dealer.

ok, i just don't get this. if this woman wants to 'give it up' for tickets to a sports game, how is this the business of the State? surely it's just a matter for her and whoever wants to make the deal with her? is it some kind of puritan thing?

Dude, can't you see that if she does the horizontal mambo the terrorists win?

More important than the bankers paying themselves huge bonuses with the rescue
money from the taxpayers, is keeping the moral structure of society by watching
what people do with their body.

Mrs. Trailerpark: Your honor... I was overcome with Phillies fever.

Exactly. It's very simple, really.

By the way... what are you doing tonight?

Are you overcome by... er... Phillies fever or sumthin' ?

You guys got it all wrong! It was Linda Robertson a Bernanke aide and she was busted somewhere in the K Street of DC in the throws of Phillies fever. Alan Grayson (D) of Orlando busted her!

Perhaps if she'd been in Nevada this may not have even made the back page of the Reno Gazette although I'm sure it'd been front page in the National Enquirer.

Prostitution involves money. This scenario does not.

Besides, who's getting hurt here? Nobody. Stop wasting time and taxpayers money on this trivial BS.

what's the different between having sex with someone for baseball tickets and having sex with someone to get a promotion at work?

what about a younger woman who marries for money? should they be locked for for prostituting themselves?
