So after my spyware attack, I formatted both hard drives on my laptop with my recovery disk that I got together with laptop.

Now everything is nice and smooth except one thing. I go to "My computer" but there is only hard drive (C), and CD/DVD drive (D). Where the heck is my other hard drive (it was (D) before and CD/DVD drive had (E) sign before)

How to fix it ?

Yes, it is. Everything is very fine except that disk issue.

When you boot up the laptop, do you see the boot-up statements (the white writing on the black background)?
If you can see two 3 drives there, then windows is not recognizing the extra drive.
Another way to check to see if the BIOS at least is finding the drive is to go into the BIOS setup (could be by pressing F10, del or some other key, it normally says just after you turn the laptop on).

What laptop do you have?

Anyways, if the BIOS is seeing the extra drive but not windows, you could try the "add new hardware" option in the control panel.

Let us know how you get on.

Thanks for the help !

Well, the other drive is not listed in BIOS and Add hardware wizard do not find any uninstalled hardware.. It is Toshiba laptop, I formatted main hard drive with its System recovery DVD and I formatted other drive before that.

So it is not listed in the bios or in the windows list of installed hardware.

Is it possible that you do not physically have another drive and that the main hard drive was set-up with a partition (C & D)?

This would account for you not seeing the other drive you are used to seeing and would be a result of you formatting your hard drive.

How big is your drive (You can check this in my computer by right clicking the drive and left clicking properties)?

If you want the partition back then you will either need a partitioning program such as Partition Magic or the like, or you can reformat your hard drive and use Fdisk (I would not recommend FDisk as it is not for the faint hearted).

Or just live with the one partition.

What do you reckon?

This was my thought - I can't imagine a laptop with two internal Hard drives.

your drive was partitioned, virtually all laptops only come with one hardrive
