Ok, here's the deal.

I've just booked holidays for the 14th October, and i want to go somewhere and chill out. I've always been told that last minute deals are the way to go, so here's the questions. . .
1.How long before my days off is best to book?
2.Any cool websites (i live in europe)?
3. Any ideas about a cool place to go, i've got Montreal on my mind, but i'm open to suggestions of somewhere cool ?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Yes, Scotland seems like a good choice.
