A game I'm currently playing has made me wonder what the acceptable vacation length is. It is a seven-day TO, and my opponent has not moved since 26 June, but has his vacation icon on. As this is a very interesting game, and is still dead even, and because I respect this person and his vacation, I won't time him out. However, when does a vacation become ridiculously long (as a function of the TO setting, say)?
Well, if this is a first occurance, I would think much about it. But, if my opponent made a habit of it without saying something in advance, I would consider a timeout after three strikes. Fair enough I think.

Then again, I could be wrong...
I've said before that it might be a good idea if you could have a 'vacation message'. If you click on someones vacation icon, a page can be displayed where you could say how long your vacation is going to be etc.
Just an idea...
It could put a stop to everyone taking TO's and saying something along the lines of 'I didn't know how long m opponent would be gone and he didn't say anything...'
