If you were down by 3 passed pawns with a bishop left, would you resign?

Depends on the position of the Bishop and the three passed pawns. Say you were Black and had a bishop on Bf6 and White had passed pawns on c4, b3, and a2. Those pawns aren't going anywhere any time soon.

Hope that was helpful.

The irony is, I offered him a draw earlier and he declined it....

I'm by no means an expert on any of this, but I'd say there was still just a tiny little more work to do for a result. Not a lot, a little. I personally wouldn't resign because I'd like to see how the finishing touches are done.

Get one of those extra pawns promoted and he might reconsider!

We really should not talk about a game in progress..... regardless of how little we talk about it.

You are not asking... but someone might say... and it is not fair to the person you are playing

Alpha, the Phla is right.Talking about ongoing games is not done,no matter what you say about it.It's very unfair and unsporting.

I am not sure about that!!!

But aaron, if the opponent in question reads your thread and responses to it ic could force him into a resignation he would not normally have made.

I know it is frustrating with the six game limit for non members, but yo do play most (all?) your games on 1 day time outs so you will win sooner or later.

Have you looked at uchess.com for speedy (very speedy!) play?

Thanks for the suggestions, but time is running out for me...I will soon be offline for a few months and thats why I play mostly 1 day timeouts, and only have 3 concurrent games right now
