For months I've been thinking about the health and nutrition benefits of freshly squeezed juice. Santa read my thoughts. Discovered a first class fruit and vegetable juice extractor in my Christmas stocking this morning. Do any of you have any juicing successes or failures, pitfalls to avoid or favorite recipes to relate? Honestly, I'm a babe in toyland and need your tutoring. Thanks.

Anything as long as it's raw and unprocessed. Thing is though is the fiber loss. Try experimenting with different fruits and vegetables until you find what you like.

Otherwise the whole food is most nutritional when eaten raw and unprocessed.

be ready for the work on the backside!
Seems I read somewhere that the pulp can be used in the drinks, sauces and even
spud skins saved for pancakes. Any truth to these 'full' use approaches?

Anything with tomatos and spices... Bloody Mary type with limes and a little zing?

Yeah. You're going to be enthusiastically juicing anything and everything that will fit for the next few weeks, whether it tastes good or not. You are going to irritate everyone around you by insisting that they try your carrot-lalaberry-and-steak juice. Then you are going to be irritated yourself by the time it takes to clean the darn thing. Then you're going to not bother with cleaning it properly, with the result that your carrot juice tastes of lalaberry and steak whether you intended it or not. And finally you're going to pack it in its box and put it on the furthest end of a shelf, never to be looked at again.

From second-personal experience, you understand.

Awesome negative spectre. Please tell me what you would do differently with our roles reversed. You've got until about the third week in January to get my spinning head on straight. Sounds as if I'm asking you to be my life coach. Maybe we should discuss fees first.

Nothing. I'm not blaming you, I'm blaming the infernal machine. Juicers are one of those great ideas that don't work in practice - at least, not for the majority of people.
