Led Zep: awesome live band. Fire, passion, and the hammer of the gods. Played at Kezar (sp. ) Stadium south of the city, top billing for a day on the green which included Several warm up acts, Lee Michaels, The Tubes and Roy Harper. The crowd came for Led Zep, who were delayed, and got impatient. The crowd booed The Tubes off the stage. The concert promoted the recently relea ...[text shortened]... r one accoustic Spanish guitar. Never have I seen such crowd control; he held them as if spellbound!
OMG, Segovia, what a precious memory.

I'd give almost anything to have seen the Allman Bros. in SF in the 70s. SF is amazing, with a totally different energy than the rest of California. I love that city.

Houses of the Holy came out in March, '73, so probably 1973.

There were “a few” but what springs to mind first was The Beatles, at the Montreal Forum, Sept 8, 1964. There were 2 shows, one in the afternoon but the one we, my then girlfriend (a huge fan) and I, went to was the evening one. I kept my ticket stub , not sure where it is now, but remember it cost $5.50/ticket. Oh and we had a hell of a time hearing the music, with all the screaming.πŸ˜²πŸ€πŸ˜‰

I misread the title, I haven't seen any of the people mentioned perform.

73 sounds about right. I graduated in ‘73 and went w 2 high school buddies to the concert.

I saw the Oscar Peterson trio at Carnegie Hall in NYC and Symphony Hall in Boston.

Would have loved to have seen Art Tatum play.

Too lazy/senile to compile a list, but your list reminded me of seeing an unrecognisable version of Duran Duran as third support act at a free concert in the Bournbrook Hotel in Birmingham around 1976. For some reason they ended up supporting the Here and Now Band (formerly Planet Gong) and ATV. I guess they were at the play anywhere that will have you stage. Line up probably changed more or less completely before they became famous.

Another on your list Annie Lennox I saw when she was in the Tourists.

Saw the original tour of Pink Floyd's Animals when they also did the whole of Wish You Were Here as well. Still lives on in my memory as an excellent night.

Most recent was Coldplay who are an amazing live act.
