Must be the game. ๐
Luckily, Lord Hosokawa has been kept light-hearted by a visiting Italian. Opera, dance and Machiavellian political theory are now his abiding passions.

So, let me guess, your strategy will be to make no moves and build up 100 arquebusiers for Oda to sacrifice his men against?
I would warn anyone against fighting Lord Oda, his skill with a katana is legendary. His inability to grasp the notion 'going a tad too far' is also legendary and many of his enemies ended up as obscure works of art littering Japan.
I hear that the Oda clan is being run by a Lady, some say she is the lovechild of Nabunaga and Mrs Tokugawa, these rumours are yet to be refuted.
Originally posted by cadwahMy spies told me that too, she is a very feared and dangerous warlord.

But the most disturbing message I got from my spies was this:
"She bathes in the blood of her prisoners, eats their liver for breakfast, their hearts for lunch and their brains for dinner."
I can only say that I'm glad she doesn't live in my neighbourhood.

Edit: Hmmm, just looked at the site... I guess it basically IS a catapult. Ii appears that I was thinking of a ballista.
Originally posted by SuzianneA trebuchet is an advanced siege engine. Instead of being powered by twisted rope or the springiness of wood or metal, it's powered by a very heavy counterweight.

A catapult, like the trebuchet, has an arm with a "hand" which holds the projectile. The arm is swung by the power of coiled rope and then stopped by a wooden beam, at which time the projectile leaves the "hand".
A ballista is a big crossbow.
