Losing a loved one on Christmas

Losing a loved one on Christmas

General

I've seen it happen to lots of other people, but today it happened to me. What can I say, it's been a roller coaster day emotionally. Due to the circumstances and prognosis of the person in question, you might say it was a blessing in disguise. They would not have had much of life had they pulled through, so in a way, you might say it was a Christmas present for them in this regard. God certainly works in mysterious ways.

To all those who have this day a memorial, God bless. :'(

My condolences on your lose. It does seem to make it worse when the tragedy happens when many others are celebrating.

Condolences extended, Whodey. My Mom (93 years young) departed this life to be face to face with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Tuesday at sunrise on December 13, 2011. Accept the fact that God has graciously given us "a time to weep and a time to mourn..." It's best to use it for achieving gradual closure, rather than wandering around aimlessly in anger or denial.

Always sad to lose loved ones, but in Whodey's case, like he said, it may have been for the best, don't think I would like to survive say, a stroke, and be brain dead with everyone going, keep him hooked up so he lives, it would be a blessing in that case to pull the plug. My condolences GB and Whodey. RIP.

Know what you mean. I wouldn't like to be in that position myself. Some people are just better off out of it. 🙁

Thanks one and all. My condolences to you as well GB.

I just wondered how many people share this day as a day of mourning, especially in light of all the suicide attempts you hear during the holidays. I think that would be far more tragic than what I endured today.

My sympathies.

The odds aren't all that small; there are only 365 days in a year, after all, and you are likely to lose a handful of people close to you during a lifetime. So it isn't as if the universe is out to get you specifically.

It's still not fun. I know; my dad died on Easter sunday.
