I have close to 700 losses, most to timeouts, i understand that i lose alot, i try to keep my rating high!! its hard to do this playing at sometimes 300 games, but i accept this and i lose graciously. But some players here have such attitudes, i dont want to name people so i will not. But lossing is part of the game, i play blitz, each game i lose here will help me improve. but players here have grown really large attitudes and seem to be very ignorant when they are about to lose. I just think its unfair to people like myself who will play and lose a lot but still enjoy the game while others who lose turn into unsportsman jerks. Sorry, just wanted to bring that up!

I'm not.................................... am I.......
thanks Toni, but nahh, because if make accusations, people may make them about me, so no names, unless it starts to get really serious then i will let everyone know! But thanks, and of course, you are not one, its been a while since we have played, i should send a game your way if thats okay with you?
You comment "people seem to be ignorant of when they are losing" makes me think. What exactly is the problem?
Is it people sending nasty messages in the game? If so, have you accidently said something to provoke them? (such as "I have this game won, you may as well resign"๐.
Is it that people don't resign when the game is lost? Remember that it is their right to play through to mate. I do quite often, as long as my opponent doesn't mind, because I want to see his endgame. Plus I won't give up on a game until I know it's lost, and a better opponent will probably realise many moves before that I don't stand a chance.
Originally posted by DustnrogersSorry that you had to experience those rude comments here, but there are people like that. I've been fortunate to play some wonderful people. Though I lose quite a bit, I always enjoy the games.
no, they make rude comments, most people who play me know that i am a fair player and never make rude comments! i wish my good lucks and thats it! but some players make comments, and playing through a mate is great, i do it almost every game that i lose!
Dustin
Enjoy your games and good luck as you move back up.

Dustin -
I think we all have had bad experiences with some people - many of them get weeded out over time. Others stay and rant. I have played a few, more than once, and just ignore their comments If it gets to be too abusive - I never play them again (maybe we need an nonbuddy list.)
Hope you find most of us reasonable playing partners. Keep plugging away - though I don't think 300 games at once will help getting you up to 1650, but it will give you a lot of chess.
David
PS - will happily keep taking on your challanges.

Some people in life are just idiots, just be glad you are not one of them๐
Just ignore them or shame them, I hope they do not spoil your enjoyment.

This thread reminded me of an amusing incident I had here a while ago. As Dustnrogers can attest, when I seriously think a game is truly lost I ask my opponent if they would prefer to continue to mate or have my resignation. Just a little courtesy I do. Well, one time I asked a fellow the question, and boy did HE GET ANGRY! I can't even begin to put it in the forum for it would be moderated quicker than a jackrabbit on a date, but this guy was absolutely FURIOUS that I asked him what he would prefer. In hindsight, I found this to be a little bit amusing. It goes to show that no good deed (or kind word in this case) goes unpunished. ๐
Anyhoo, for my part of it I can attest that Dustnrogers was an absolute gentlemen in our game and I would happily play him anytime. ๐
