Tech Alert: Apple iPhone, iPad, and Mac Security Flaw
On Friday, February 21st, Apple revealed that a serious security defect was found in the operating systems for iPhones, iPads, and Macs. The defect allows others to capture and decrypt network traffic transmitted over Wi-Fi, 3G, 4G, and Ethernet networks.
Apple has already issued a security patch for iPhones and iPads. It is important that you update your iOS device as soon as possible. You should install iOS release 7.0.6 for: iPhone 4 and later, iPod touch (5th generation), iPad 2 and later; install iOS release 6.1.6 for older Apple devices.
Apple has not yet released a fix for Mac computers using the OS X operating system, but it expects to shortly. Users should check for software updates regularly until it is available.
