@torunn saidSo where you are living is considered mild?
I live on the west coast so it doesn't usually get as cold as in the middle of the country.

@very-rusty saidYes, Gothenburg is in the southern part of Sweden and on the west coast so we usually have pretty mild winters - long sometimes but not very cold. It often is 'råkall' which is är 'raw cold' meaning it feels cold but it isn't.
So where you are living is considered mild?

@very-rusty said3 edits for that? 😂
We have 4 seasons so it is not like that year round as many think. Also we don't have igloo's where I live a question I've been asked many times. That would be -20....20 degrees is fine! 😉, man that is almost 70f.....You must be soft!

Could you handle 40c? Same difference, people are just built differently.
@relentless-red saidIt snowed in Dublin last Friday, horrible stuff.
Really mild here. Weirdly so. Temperatures in double figures last week. Still only 5°C. Don't think I've seen a frost all winter.
@very-rusty saidIn Sweden, -50 is considered shorts weather.
So where you are living is considered mild?

@very-rusty saidI use the Opera web browser, so I just highlight the degrees (including the C) and it pops up a Fahrenheit conversion for me. It does the same for currency conversions.
I just got back from my coffee run -17C. For those of you who want to figure how to convert. Formula(-17°C × 9/5) + 32 = 1.4°F.
Maybe other browsers do this too nowadays? I switched to Opera a few years ago when I ditched Gmail and Chrome.
@kevin-eleven saidI think pretty much any browser you can find the conversion. 🙂

I saw no reason of making a new thread as I already started this one about how Cold it was.
A -10 this morning but I guess it was much colder last night. They had 3 teams of 2 people in each vehicle looking for people who are homeless and out in the cold. I had volunteered for this also, but they already had what they needed, and I didn't have my advanced first aid updated.
There are 15 different locations which they check for people sleeping outside. Last night they treated some people and others they are going to try and get a place to stay for tonight. We shouldn't have anyone having to sleep out on the street.
We made it out this morning for our Morning Coffee and hot chocolate with peppermint for the better half. When we get home she has miniatured colored marshmallows she puts in it.

@torunn saidDo you mind the cold?

I think it can be quite refreshing. We have a Polar Bear Club, I am not a member that go for a dip every day no matter what the temperature. I believe one would have to have a good strong healthy heart for that.
New Years day they have a ritual of jumping in the water no matter what the weather is like. I think they are a little off their rocker, but hey that is their thing.

@very-rusty saidOf course I'm wondering if the young man had nice legs, but you don't have to answer that.
Coffee run today was a nice mild -1C. I saw several people with shorts on one young man and two young women. I had joggers and heavy winter Jacket on. Always prepared never know when mechanical issues could arise.

Is the cold spell over, or should we start calling you Very Frosty? 😉
@indonesia-phil saidOur weather is all messed up Climate change is here has been for years, people just wouldn't admit it. We are currently experiencing rain, suppose to turn to freezing rain, drop to -7 then snow, winds around 100 km's an hour. Hopefully we will get more rain than snow. Another Northwester coming our way. We could lose power. Seems every little wind we get now or storm we lose our power. I hope it makes a liar out of me and we don't lose it. 🙂
Here in equatorial Indonesia we're deep in the rainy season, where at sea -
level temperatures can plummet to 26 degrees C, (25C has even been recorded at night) brrrr......
