Zidane? Do me a favour.... not fit to lace Tony Currie's boots mate.
come..come Blade68, i am a few years older then you, and i do remember seeing tony C playing...but you cant be serious?

Currie was fantastic on his day, put even then he was not the best around. Hoddle was there as was stan Bowles and brooking, to name but three...

Brooking shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence as TC... Brooking only had one foot. He was fortunate to play for a fashionable team... who's manager then went on to manage England - that's the only reason he got any international caps (ala Paul Mariner/Ipswich Town/Bobby Robson).

Hoddle was way after Currie in his prime (they played on opposite sides in the QPR/Spurs Cup Final), but TC was an old man by then... for what it's worth, I believe that Hoddle should have been the natural replacement in the England team for TC - but the England team was never run properly enough for such a transition to take effect.

From Currie's era... (having discounted Brooking totally), Bowles was decent but never fulfilled his potential (I think the booze and gambling caught him didn't it?)... Alan Hudson was a class act, and Frank Worthington should have had a box full of caps (but akin to TC didn't play for a fashionable side)... people rave about Colin Bell, but I never saw him so I can't comment.

If my comments appear a little biased in Currie's favour I make no apology for that. He played for my team, and he was my boyhood hero... no-one will ever compare at the side of those facts!

Currie my arse!!!!!!!
The laziest overweight overated player to grace a football field.
Played 1 good game in 4, and that was only for 20 minutes.
To top all that he defected to the enemy, yes dare I say it leeds.
Chris Waddle was miles better
