Apparently you had the "self confidence" to base this penetrating thread on a cut and paste from Wikipedia.

You lifted it, word for word.

Have you ever had an original thought?

If this puts me in the same catagory as Winston Churchill, i'm all for it....we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender.

Thread's leading question (Ever notice the contemporary disregard for protocols of magnanimity and the historic manhood codes) was original to the extent that I witness weak character traits within my present environment continually. Initially I posted the question to "202 Things we deplore..." but before clicking 'Post' my interest was sufficient to see if there were any academic studies on the topic. Became enthralled in the wiki presentation, both because of its scope of inadvertent contributors and its comprehensive coverage of illustrative highlights spanning the past 2,000 years. Acknowedgement of the quotation was given with good form and care to wiki. I'm so pleased you, too, found the paragraphs "penetrating". Lengthy op's are, as you know, quite common in the Spirituality Forum but seldom seen in the General Forum, Mikelom's entertaining original stories notwithstanding.

Is plagiarism one of your noble virtues? How about hypocrisy?

Sure it's okay to borrow from Wikipedia and other outside sources, but not when you present
yourself as a holier-than-thou sermonizer, and especially not when you smugly accuse your
critics of character flaws.

If you want to witness really weak character traits, take a long, hard look in the nearest mirror.

Why limit yourself to wondering about original ones? There's a wider question to be asked here.

Right on, Richard. There's always a 'wider question' and that question is "Is there a question?"

Ever notice the contemporary disregard for protocols of magnanimity and the historic manhood codes:

"The magnanimity of Alexander towards the captive Porus. Magnanimity (derived from the Latin roots magn- great, and animus, mind, literally means greatly generous) is the virtue of being great of mind and hea eality, had led to "men without chests." -wiki

Post a random cut and paste from some site whilst shielding your readers from it's context. Then smile as they try, in vain, to figure out wtf you're on about.

Shame on you Grampy Bobby 😞

Another thumbs up for HandyAndy

Would my esteemed fellow RHP Member and respected adversary please refer to the factual reply provided for Sir H. Andy on this very page only a few days and moments ago: "Became enthralled in the wiki presentation, both because of its scope of inadvertent contributors and its comprehensive coverage of illustrative highlights spanning the past 2,000 years. Acknowedgement of the quotation was given with good form and care to wiki" Thank you for contributing to this thread, Sir A. Gerg, though it's unfortunate you should succumb to the childish temptation to compromise the integrity of this storied sandbox chamber with specious allegations, unsupported by reality or the public record, for your own amusement at another RHP Member's expense.

Specious, what a useful word to teach your quite literate and creative children:
