I've been playing an' singing Christmas songs for 15 hours this week end, maybe the first two hrs. were fun. I think I've sung every Christmas song that's been recorded. Did you know they don't use Christmas songs at church until after Christmas? I'm already sick of most of them.
Anybody know any obscure holiday tunes? (might be a good international question) maybe some kind of local or ethnic tune.

Great pictures, beautiful country. Slow and minor, refreshing, after all the upbeat major tunes I'm performing. I'd never get the lyrics, do you speak Norwegian (if that's what it's named)?

Blessed the day / valley (Halvdan Sivertsen sings "dal" = valley, but I think "dag" is the original text) over the fjords, blessed the light over the land. Blessed the eternal words about hope and an extended hand. Protect the little bit you gave us the day you moved us here, so that we feel that you will never let us descend into poverty and exhaustion.
We lived cap in hand, but had such a strong faith. And we know one thing for sure, we are resilient, just as you are. Now we have the toughest time, we struggle to drag us towards the light and the Advent season, it's far south to Bethlehem.
God's peace over the mountains and hills, let it grow where we build and live. God's peace over the animals in the stable, and a frozen and meagre soil. You see us in the "dark-time land" ("mørketid", i.e. "dark-time", is the term for the time of the year during which the sun doesn't rise). You bless with eternal words the houses, the mountains, the water and the people who live here in the north.
