Use linux instead. MS Vista is (like most MS software) rubbish (as is their
new office suite). But that's just my opinion, of course. You shouldn't ask for
a second opinion. 😛

Or you could just shut your face and stop forcing/spamming your opinion on him. Let him try Vista and Linux for himself, see which one he likes best.

But that's just my opinion

$272 for the windows vista ultimate. I looked over some of the new features and I really like them. This thing has voice recognition and typing patterns and such it recognizes your habits. Plus the new 3d flip seems really great allowing us to view the window without actually opening it which saves tons of time as far as I am concerned. higher security better graphics and more overall uses for what I actually will use it for but it will be comforting to have. Has anyone actually used this new software yet? What are your thoughts? I more than likely will buy this version of the software but would like to hear some first hand accounts before I jump and spend that kind of money.

Linux is just not for me...no offense I just don't like the software nearly as much.

Is it really 272 bucks? I thought you got a deal if you upgraded from XP. Or maybe that IS the upgrade price.
Here is a link to a piece from PC magazine, called the 9 most annoying things about Vista.

The way I'm thinking is that by the time M$ stop supporting XP, their next version [Vienna-Blackcomb??] will be coming out - then I'll buy Vista. 😕

edit: much cheaper too.

[I think you can get Premium or Basic version for not much over $100 right now]

...or, you can look at that smiley and realise I'm not really serious. Well, I'm
serious about the vista rubbish part (naturally), but I'm not seriously
believing that anyone will go linux because I say so.

Spamming? More like teasing, but I'd better not write that again, or I may
receive a ban, yea?
